Assam Knowledge Spectrum: Heritage, Access and Reach (AKSHAR) Project is an initiative to document and showcase the Public Library Network of Assam through a comprehensive profile of its institutional and grassroots-level library ecosystem driven by voluntary participation and contributions from libraries and stakeholders across the state. The project covers State, Branch, District, Sub-Divisional, and Rural Libraries, highlighting their heritage, accessibility, services, and role in promoting knowledge and lifelong learning across the state.

To create a comprehensive, accessible, and dynamic digital knowledge platform that preserves the heritage, strengthens access, and expands the reach of the public library network of Assam, thereby promoting lifelong learning, cultural preservation, research, and community development across the state.
Aim
The AKSHAR Project aims to document, profile, and showcase the institutional and grassroots public library ecosystem of Assam through a collaborative and continuously updated digital platform that enhances the visibility, accessibility, and utilisation of libraries and their services.
Objectives
a) Map the Complete Ecosystem: To develop a comprehensive digital directory and profile of the Public Library Network of Assam, including State, Branch, District, Sub-Divisional, and Rural Libraries.
b) Preserve Cultural Heritage: Serve as a digital gateway to Assam's vast knowledge spectrum, ensuring the state's literary and historical heritage is preserved and celebrated.
c) Facilitate Occasion-Based Grassroots Fundraising: Enable citizens to celebrate special occasions - such as birthdays, anniversaries, or milestones - by directly donating funds or resources to public libraries, channeling societal goodwill directly into grassroots community benefit.
